Onboard Lap of Ayrton Senna at Monaco 1987

After all that brouhaha about using hands-free devices, it is illuminating to see Ayrton Senna’s lap around Monaco. Look at his hands as drives around in Monaco with virtually one hand as the other hand is virtually swapping cogs (50 shifts per lap).

  1. Here is an idea: what if the F1 drivers were required to send at least 3 text messages between start and finish. Plus, use a drive-through and get a coffee. Too bad I did not see any drive-throughs in Monte Carlo last time I visited. For that we need to bring F1 back to Detroit.
